Love: that sweet feeling

DOWNLOAD THIS POST

Recently, a very good friend of mine has been talking to me about Love. He has been sharing quite a great deal of what love truly is and as Christians, we all know that the first and most important thing about love is: God is Love! That's to say, no God, no Love; know God, know Love. :D... Also, he keeps reminding me that God's love is shed abroad in our hearts through the Spirit of God. Thus, we do not have to pray and fast for it to 'fall' on us but rather through the help of the Holy Spirit, we should develop it.
Human circumstance will never give us the opportunity to 'chill' cos people will always be people and will still tick you off. The best response is love. I have read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 so many times but never has it opened up so well to me as my friend shared it from the Amplified Bible. Reading something over and over again meditatively, picturing one's self in a situation that relates to the matter helps to actually put it into practice.
In this blog post, I have paraphrased the Amplified version of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and I'll love to share it with you.
                                            LOVE

... It takes no account of the evil done to it
... It bears up under anything and everything that comes and is ever ready to believe the best of every person
... Its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything
... It endures long and is patient and kind
... It is not conceited; it is not rude and does not act unbecomingly
... It never fails
... It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness
... It is not self-seeking, touchy, fretful or resentful
... It  is never envious or jealous, not vainglorious and does not display itself haughtily
... It rejoices when right and truth prevails

 1 CORINTHIANS 13:4-8

I changed the arrangement of the verses, so the above passage is not in its correct order.
Live a life of Love. Let God's love grow and develop in you until you come to the fullness of the image of Christ.Remember, even while you were yet a sinner, Christ died for you. He didn't die for you 'cos you were a good person or the best human around. He died for you when you were undeserving and sinful. That truly is love. It looks beyond ourselves and let's the Holy Spirit control, inspire and motivate every action and response. Meditate on the above passage, rely on the Holy Spirit's power to help you act on them and always consciously wear the mind of Christ.   Be renewed.... :*
