CRSS 101 (Introduction to Christian Service)

This is a late post but its never too late to put up a late post. Joshua 24:15 says, "...As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord..." At one time or the other, we've all had the zeal to serve in one unit or the other in our various churches or fellowships but yet do not know just where exactly to fit in.Too many options? Too many abilities? This is just the post for you. I have been running around and putting things together to help us(you and I) know what exactly to do concerning this issue.
First,
let's not forget the place of prayer. God is the most important factor here, since whatever you will be doing will be for Him. Go to God in prayer. Ask God for guidance and directions. God answers prayers and will surely answer yours.
Secondly, depend strongly on the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding..."
Thirdly, Remember this: God said, "Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5) So, God had deposited a measure of that which you can do within you right from birth. He loves you and wants you to glorify Him through your service. Don't just be a bench-warmer in church. Being involved in a unit or another is very good. It gives us a sense of responsibility and commitment and enhances our spiritual growth. Get committed. Get active.

I love new beginnings especially new sessions. As a student, a new session means another chance to make things better. To grow to become a better friend, sister, student and colleague. I look forward to correct my wrongs and employ new habits and attitudes. I wrote this short article to encourage you towards new beginnings.        As we look up the calendar of a new activity, we come face-to-face with the fact that our days are numbered in life. As the Psalmist wrote, “Teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” No thoughtful person can start anything without some introspection.
