Success

Success according to Oxford’s Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, is the fact that you have achieved something you want and have been trying to do or get. Success brings happiness, joy and love. Everyone wants to succeed but not everyone can stand another person’s happiness or success. Isn’t it funny how people want to SUCCEED in doing bad things? People have their own concept of success. A survey of students showed the following results:

60% - Achievement of one’s personal dream

30% - Result of hard work and determination. But shamefully, only 10% said it’s a result of prayer and hard work.

We acknowledge success in our endeavours so dearly but we fail to consider the giver of success; He who blesses the work of our hands. This is the right time to change. Are you letting Jesus change you from the inside out? A change in behaviour begins with a change of heart, and the only person that has access to your heart is Jesus Christ. The word of God is the key to success. Quite alright we all have dreams. We aspire to be great personalities in the future. That is our prayer; to be great, rich, famous and mighty. Have you ever listened to your prayers? How many times do you ask God for the grace to serve others? What we are doing is like telling God "See, you have seen my future, I want to become a president. I am studying. Make me pass my examinations and bless me every day." Do you ever listen to know if God already has something in mind for you? You are not the only boy or girl, man or woman who wishes to be the president, God has already designed your future. You might be the one, you might not. Only asked God to do His will and don’t forget: "High places are for the lowly." Be humble today and drop your pride. Change your prayer points as well as your life and be ready to conform to God’s own success plan. Seek God’s provision daily. Seek it expectantly and above all, seek it actively. Learn from the birds in Psalm 107:27-28. God feeds the birds but does not throw food into their nests. They go out to get the food. So it is with you. Do something now!!!

As said earlier on, our core values are of no values if they don’t reflect God’s values. We can trust or all-knowing God for the unknown future. Don’t worry about it, only plan for it and leave it in God’s hands. We plant the seeds but God knows the harvest. Everyone knows that planting on a depleted soil is a waste of time. If the soil is not well manured, it is a waste. We have to manure ourselves with God’s word and be ready to support ourselves with the root of God’s promises. The master key to success is "knowing the master". That is why our Bible should be to us as the walking stick is to the aged. Study the scripture:

C - Comprehensively

R - Reverently

I - Intelligently

P - Prayerfully

T - Topically

U - Unto God

R - Repeatedly

E - Expositionally

Trying to do everything on our own is like a blind man leading another around a pit. You don’t need to know where you are going if you know God is leading you. You must have a dream, and then this dream will then lead to the creation of over beaming success. It also takes vision and passion to become outstanding success on earth. I have never heard of someone succeeding at something he doesn’t like. There is no need aiming for the moon just because your friend is also aiming there. Be yourself and shoot for the sun! A double-minded person is unstable in his ways. Be ready to change when you have a weak point; don’t change like a chameleon. You must not smile at failure, but face impossibility without any iota of doubt. Remember success is a matter of luck, ask any failure.
