The New Fashion Trend

Keeping up to date with what is going on in the fashion world is really interesting. As trends come and go, clothing styles get fancier and interesting. In this post, I'll love to share with you a fashion trend that always stays in vogue.
It's called THE NEW MAN.

Colossians 3:10 says, "And we have PUT ON the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him."
vs 12 goes on to say, "PUT ON therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering:forbearing one another and forgiving one another..."

This fashion trend includes clothing pieces such as:
  MERCY:
The cuffs of this shirt are ruffled in a very stylish way.
"Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy." Matthew 5:7. God expects us to be merciful to one another just as He is merciful to us and forgives us of our trespasses. Jesus tells a parable of a servant who had received mercy from his master but yet failed to be merciful to a fellow servant. His master was angry about this delivered him to tormentors. So, likewise, God will do unto us if we are not merciful to others. (Read the full parable in Matt. 18:21-35)

KINDNESS:
The slit at the back of this dress is short enough to keep you looking modest but yet long enough to look classy.
"Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;" Romans 12:10. In our world today, rudeness is the order of the day. Nobody cares for the well being of another. But, God instructs us to be kind to one another with brotherly love. Be kind enough to give a listening ear, share with us others and help others too.
  HUMBLENESS OF MIND:
This headscarf is warm enough for the hot weather but still cool for use on a sunny day.
"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:3. Pride is not to be found in God's elect. Pride in one's possessions or ability and capability should not be heard of but we should serve one another with humility. Through the scriptures, we are warned not do anything through strife or for vainglory but in lowliness of mind.

MEEKNESS:
This sweetheart neck-line plunges well enough to accentuate the neck but not in an immodest way.
Meekness is not weakness but the subjection and surrender of one's strength in humility to the sovereignty and working of the Holy Spirit. Without the presence of the Holy Spirit, and with the troubling world we live in today, one cannot stand up to the vain pride of the world.

LONGSUFFERING:
From the name of this clothing piece, you can expect it to be a maxi skirt. It's length is stylish tho'.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is... longsuffering...against such there is no law." Gal. 5:22-23. Patience is a virtue that is lacking nowadays but the Bible instructs us to be patient even in tribulation. It is a fruit of the Spirit against which there is no law. Consider also that patience keeps us from doing or saying what we may regret later.

FORBEARING ONE ANOTHER:
For the ladies, it's a beautiful clutch purse and for the guys, it's a rich, leather wallet.
This means putting up and tolerating another's misgivings and difference. We are different and unique humans so we do not expect to always get along very well but it is our place, as the Bible has said, to bear with others. Not giving chance to wrath and outbursts and anger.

FORGIVING ONE ANOTHER:
This is the most expensive piece of jewellery in the market. It's diamond-studded so what do you expect?!
Can the matter of forgiveness be stressed more than this. Unforgiveness is cancerous and eats deep within. God tells us to forgive one another just as he has forgiven us. We have the Spirit of God in us and thus can forgive just as Christ forgives. A common misconception we have to day is allowing ourselves believe we can forgive but cannot forget. Forgiving and forgetting go hand in hand. Since, we are to forgive just as Christ forgave us, then we have to forget the wrong done just as Christ blots out or sins as though they never have been. 2 Cor. 5:17 says, "...he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things are new."

As we have seen, this new fashion trend is not about us; that is, it is not self-centred but focuses on bringing showing love to others.

So, when next you open your box to take out a piece of clothing, or when next you stand in front of the mirror to fix up yourself, ask yourself if you are putting on the right kind of apparel and following the correct fashion trend. Remember, to put on the new man. It's classy, trendy and always stays in vogue.

STAY STYLISH!
